For those unfamiliar, the National Garden Scheme (NGS) gives visitors unique access to over 3,500 exceptional private gardens in England and Wales, and raises impressive amounts of money for nursing and health charities through admissions, teas and cake. Thanks to the generosity of garden owners, volunteers and visitors the NGS have donated over £60 million to nursing and health charities and made an annual donation of £2.88 million in 2020, and over £3.1 million in 2021. Their core beneficiaries include Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK and The Queen’s Nursing Institute. More information can be found on their website.
Whilst Gloucester Square is not expected to participate in the NGS Open Day this year, residents are still encouraged to take advantage of the rare opportunity to browse surrounding private Gardens, for as little as a £4 charitable donation per adult.
